Reuben Heim is an Associate Lawyer in the Complex Commercial Litigation team, acting on large-scale disputes.  Reuben's experience covers a wide range of legal practice areas including contractual interpretation, negligence, statutory duties, class actions, examination summons, constitutional law, search warrants, and privilege.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Reuben was an associate in a leading litigation team at an international firm in Sydney, acting on a large range of matters. Reuben has significant appellate experience in Australia, having worked on three cases in the High Court of Australia and two in the NSW Court of Appeal. 

Reuben's passion is for full-picture strategy-driven legal practice.

Representative experience

Acting for a pharmaceutical company in proceedings concerning the breach of a share purchase agreement.

Acting for a US Hedge Fund in proceedings arising from the termination of an employee in connection with SEC and DOJ investigations.

Acting for BAT Industries in proceedings arising from the $1 billion clean-up of the Fox river in the U.S.

Acting for Murray Darling Basin Authority and Commonwealth Government of Australia in class action proceedings involving claims of negligence arising out of the operation of the River Murray System

Acting for an accounting firm in examination summons proceedings arising out of the collapse of a mining company.*

Acting for a journalist and NewsCorp in a successful High Court of Australia challenge to the validity of a search warrant.*

Acting pro bono for a client with disabilities on the recovery of stolen funds.*
