Before joining Hogan Lovells, Connor worked as an Analytical Scientist in a contract research organisation (CRO). He gained experience in a number of roles across a wide variety of clinical areas, including cancer genomics, allergy testing and COVID-19, all while adhering to strict ISO:15189 medical laboratory standards. Here he also obtained his IBMS certificate of competency, enabling him to practice as a registered Biomedical Scientist.
Prior to this, Connor completed an MSc in Reproductive Medicine and Ethics at the University of Kent in Canterbury. This course not only covered scientific knowledge, but also the legal and regulatory aspects governing the field and involved spending time at both the School of Law and School of Biosciences. It additionally gave him the opportunity to work with experts in the field of assisted reproduction. Connor also has a BSc in Biomedical Science that covered a wide range of topics, with modules on pharmacology, biological chemistry, immunology and bioinformatics.
Reviewing scientific literature for a client performing due diligence on a potential acquisition of a life sciences company that is subject to ongoing litigation.
Assisting with the preparation of technical documents for CE marking of medical devices and for submission to regulatory authorities.
Reviewing technical literature and identifying potential experts to assist with the Defence of vehicle manufacturers facing emissions related litigation.
Assisting with the Defence of medical device manufacturers in relation to claims alleging defects in their products.
Analysing the scope of IP claims for a leading pharmaceutical company and identifying relevant prior art.
