Sophia offers a fresh perspective to litigation matters, drawing upon her analytical skills and healthcare background to navigate her clients’ most complex problems.

Having successfully represented clients in a wide range of areas including toxic torts, consumer protection, antitrust, class action, and international arbitration, Sophia understands the need for innovative legal strategies and business-minded solutions. She has experience in all phases of litigation, including initial case assessment, taking depositions, briefing discovery and dispositive motions, as well as trial experience.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Sophia worked as an EMT and medical researcher at UCLA’s Ronald Reagan Medical Center.  In law school, Sophia served as a board member for her school’s LGBTQ+ affinity group and faculty selection committee.  Before moving to Houston, Sophia divided her time between Beijing, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

Representative experience

Represented “Big Five” technology company in settlement negotiations with State Attorney General.

Defended DOJ lawsuit seeking to block ASSA ABLOY’s US$4.3bn transaction to acquire the HHI Division of Spectrum Brands.

Advised Canadian and US investors in disputes against Mexico under NAFTA. 

Assisted with certiorari and merits briefing filed in the 4th Circuit on behalf of victims of gun violence.
