We are delighted to share the details of our annual training day with you for new and inexperienced trustees, plus anyone who would like to get up to speed on legal aspects of occupational pension schemes.   
 
The day will be based on legal aspects of the Pensions Regulator's trustee knowledge and understanding syllabus and will help you demonstrate that you meet the statutory requirement for trustees to have knowledge and understanding of pensions and trust law.

  • The Pensions Regulator, HMRC and the Financial Conduct Authority: who does what? 
  • A member’s pension journey from new employee to retirement 
  • Cybersecurity and pension scams 
  • Investing pension scheme assets 
  • Preparing for pension dashboards
  • Special features of defined benefit (DB) pensions: funding and employer covenant; moral hazard; the Pension Protection Fund; and preparing for buyout 
  • Special features of defined contribution (DC) pensions: choosing default and self-select funds; the DC charges cap; the importance of good administration; member options at retirement
