Going online? Trends and pitfalls of online retailing

27 October 2015

Online retailing is becoming a norm not only for conglomerates but also local businesses. Many predict online shopping will continue to thrive with the proliferation of social media, mobile applications, e-payment and the like. The Asian market in particular presents a huge potential for growth.

On the other side of the coin, we have seen increasing legal and regulatory developments which attempt to address the various aspects of online retailing, some of which may catch out the unwary.

‎In this session, we will look at and re-visit some of hot legal topics surrounding online retailing, primarily from the perspectives of Hong Kong and China, including:

• Effectiveness of online contracts and T&Cs

• How to protect your intellectual property online?

• Data privacy: "big data" and data security

• Internet advertising: pop-ups, online behavioural advertising and others

We hope you are able to join us.

This is a joint event between Hogan Lovells and Michael Page.

Hong Kong Law Society CPD points applied for.
