A New Dawn for International Companies Fighting Bad-Faith Filings - an unprecedented China case law update at the 2021 INTA Annual Meeting Virtual+

The annual review of the EU and the U.S. case law has been a traditional and widely acclaimed session at the annual meetings of the International Trademark Association (INTA). This year, for the first time, INTA is presenting a session on China case law update, in addition to the other sessions under Regional Updates.

Hogan Lovells IPMT Partner Helen Xia has been invited as one of the speakers. Helen together with other speakers will address trendsetting cases and discuss their relevant fact patterns. Additionally, speakers will discuss how international companies can navigate the China trademark law system to minimize their intellectual property (IP) risks to a manageable level. Special attention will be given to the role of bad-faith intent and how it factors into tipping the balance and pushing the boundaries of the current legal regime in China.
