Breaking Barriers Panel: The Pride of Hong Kong

10 June 201512:15 PM - 2:00 PM (CST)

Can Hong Kong genuinely refer to itself as "Asia's World City" when it has failed to put in place a legal framework that protects up to 10% of the population?

And in today's competitive global economy, by not promoting an inclusive workplace, is Hong Kong making itself less attractive as a destination for top talent that are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender (LGBT), when they can choose to go to the US, Canada or Europe and work in an environment that embraces diversity?

Leaders of some of the world's most successful companies are clear that the promotion of a diverse workforce creates a better, more efficient, more profitable business. Yet Hong Kong still does not have any legislation protecting LGBT individuals against discrimination on the grounds of sexuality.

Breaking Barriers is proud to welcome a distinguished panel to discuss the political, business and cultural issues affecting the LGBT community in Hong Kong, what business is doing to encourage the inclusion of the LGBT community, and what more it can do.
