Antonio Cervantes advises clients in handling matters related to customs law and international trade. He understands free trade agreements and national legislation to make clients comply with non-tariff regulations as well as antidumping and subsidy investigations. He also supports clients facing litigation arising from customs administrative proceedings and audits issued by the Mexican tax authority related to import and export operations in Mexico.

Antonio has participated in both consulting and litigation within the customs practice at Hogan Lovells. As an associate, he advises companies on their current and future foreign trade operations and all matters involving tax, customs, logistics and economic scenarios. In the litigation area, he defends the interests of companies upon their arrival in Mexico and also from abroad, both in the customs entry section and in customs audits following import operations.

Antonio has also been involved in matters related to NAFTA verifications of origin and has obtained IMMEX programs and VAT-IEPS Certifications for companies.

Representative experience

Obtained antidumping duties from an antidumping investigation.

Successfully advised the first American exporter of electric immobilizers to Mexico.
