We respect the privacy of candidates for employment. This Privacy Notice sets forth how we will use the information we obtain when you apply for a position through this career site. If you do not consent to the terms of this Privacy Notice, please do not submit information to us.

Legal Notice: I understand that employment with Hogan Lovells US LLP is "at will" and can be terminated with or without notice or cause at any time by Hogan Lovells US LLP or the employee. I also understand that any contrary agreement must be in writing signed by the Chief Human Resources Officer and the employee. Data Protection

We maintain a curriculum vitae and applications database for our recruitment purposes. This is operated by our recruitment teams in London, Germany, CE and Asia.  

We may add your application details and/or curriculum vitae to our database and approach you about suitable job opportunities in our various offices worldwide. In order to do this we will share your personal information with relevant personnel in those offices. You should be aware that this may mean transferring your personal information to locations outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"), where legal protection for personal data may be less rigorous than in the EEA, but at all times we will endeavour to process your personal information in accordance with EU standards. Transfers of your personal data from the EU to destinations outside the EEA will normally be made on the basis of the model clauses approved by the European Commission for transfers from EU controllers to non-EU controllers, which may be found at the Commission's website at https://ec.europa.eu.

The information on our recruitment database is not traded with any external bodies or organisations and is not used for marketing purposes.

Your details will be stored in our database for the period agreed with you or, as long as we think that there is a reasonable opportunity of finding a position for you, which may (depending on your particular skills and experience) be up to three years. 

Once you have registered your details, you have the right to access and the right to correct your personal data either by logging in or by contacting the relevant Hogan Lovells office. If you would like your details removed from our database, please contact the relevant Hogan Lovells office. In certain circumstances you may also have the right to receive the personal data which you have provided to us in a structured and machine-readable format.

The legal basis for our processing of your data is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time, although this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before your consent is withdrawn. Pre-employment Screening (UK Applications only)

Hogan Lovells carries out pre-employment screening. Pre-employment screening involves a number of checks to verify your identity, employment history and qualifications. The process of pre-employment screening is undertaken at the end of the recruitment process and forms a condition of the offer of employment. The pre-employment checks we will carry out before you join include*:

  • Academic qualifications and professional memberships (SRA for qualified lawyers)
  • Credit checks
  • Criminal record search
  • Employment references to obtain current and previous employment history (this could also include education or travel)
  • Right to Work: to demonstrate legal right to work in the UK.
