Julien Berger advises and represents clients in commercial and investment arbitration matters both ad hoc or before leading arbitral institutions such as e.g. the ICC, LCIA or DIS.  

Julien read law at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) and the University of Oxford. He trained inter alia with the German Federal Chancellery and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome. He holds a Dr. Jur. from the Universität Potsdam in the field of Investor-State Arbitration and the law of the European Union. Julien regularly authors on issues of international arbitration law. His doctoral thesis entitled "International Investment Protection within Europe - The EU's Assertion of Control" was published by Routledge. 

Julien is fluent in German, English and French.

Representing a leading pharmaceutical company in an ICC arbitration against a Chinese supplier.

Representing a Danish pharmaceutical company in a post M&A DIS arbitration.

Advising a German engineering company in a potential dispute concerning a recycling plant.
