Insights and events
Andreas Gossen regularly acts for insurance companies as monitoring counsel in D&O liability, product liability and insurance issues. Most recently, he represented a British life insurance company in a class action suit with approximately 100 single claimants, a case which attracted a great deal of attention.
Andreas has gained considerable experience in corporate, commercial and insurance litigation. He advises national and international companies from various industry groups, and their board members, in particular in the areas of insurance, D&O liability, product liability and on corporate law and compliance issues. For example, he advised the supervisory board of a DAX 30 company following antitrust fine imposition proceedings.
At the compliance breakfasts organised by our firm, Andreas is often a speaker and clients frequently ask him for advice in compliance, liability and insurance issues. Andreas also has a wealth of experience in the enforcement of claims for damages. For example, he recently enforced a building company's claims for damages against its previous managers because of breaches of contract.
He studied law in Dusseldorf and Munster. In 2005, after qualifying as a lawyer, he started his legal career at a renowned German law-firm. At that time he focused on commercial and corporate litigation. A couple of years later, in August 2007, Andreas joined Hogan Lovells.
