Hogan Lovells Digital Finance Dialogue

Electronic Securities and the German Electronic Securities Act - latest developments and outlook for 2024

Join the Hogan Lovells’ Digital Assets and Blockchain Team for a panel discussion on the topic of Electronic Securities and the German Electronic Securities Act - latest developments and outlook for 2024 on Wednesday, 28 February 2024, at 6 p.m. CET we will be holding this event in our Frankfurt office and also online for those who cannot join in person. We are delighted that Prof. Dr. Ulrich Segna will attend as guest speaker.

While the German Law on Electronic Securities (eWpG) entered into force already more than three years ago, the issuance of electronic securities under the eWpG, in particular of crypto securities, is still a challenge. Legal uncertainties are among those challenges, including the qualification of electronic securities either as central register securities or crypto securities. The same goes for the eligibility of the registrar, as well as for the interplay of the eWpG with the German Custody Act (DepotG). Our seminar aims to provide an overview on those legal challenges and potential solutions to overcome those challenges.

As with the other sessions of our HL Digital Finance Dialogue series, the session will take place in our panoramic Frankfurt office (and alternatively online).

Please note that the session will be held in German.

We hope you can join us.
