Officially launched on September 29 , 2013, the China (Shanghai) Free-Trade Zone (FTZ) was created as a testing ground for innovation in investment management, trade facilitation, financial services, and transformation of government functions . One of just a handful of international law firms in the FTZ, Hogan Lovells entered into association with Fujian Fidelity Law Firm and operates under the Hogan Lovells Fidelity brand.

Under Chinese regulations, Hogan Lovells and Fidelity remain as two separate legal entities in a contractual association. The association itself operates out of Fidelity’s office in the Shanghai FTZ.
