Francesco Banterle is an IP enthusiast with a passion for technology and digital issues. He combines a diverse experience as in-house and outside counsel, supported by a strong academic background thanks to a PhD in IP law.
Francesco enjoys handling complex contentious and non-contentious matters, in all traditional and modern IP/IT issues, always aiming at finding the most effective and client-oriented approach.
He has developed extensive experience in information technology, e-commerce, copyright, everything related to data (from data protection law compliance to trade secrets litigation), patents and trademarks. He loves writing and blogging about IP and IT law issues.
Francesco Banterle's experience covers both private practice and in-house. He was formerly associate to the Intellectual Property and Information Technology law department of one of the leading Italian international law firms. He then worked as group legal counsel at a multinational company based in Switzerland, where he particularly took care of intellectual property and data protection issues at international level.
He has advised on all aspects of intellectual property and data protection laws including litigation in all IP fields (including patent, copyright, design, trademark, trade secrets, and unfair competition laws), IP transactions, M&A, global anti-counterfeiting programs, IP portfolio management, data protection compliance strategy, international data transfers, and more in general data exploitation.
