Anna-Katharina Friese, Europajuristin (University of Würzburg)
Anna-Katharina Friese focuses on all aspects of patent law and on the protection of trade secrets and know-how. She has extensive experience in all kinds of patent litigation matters for international and national clients.
Anna's legal advice focuses on patent infringement proceedings (main action, preliminary injunctions and inspection proceedings) and other technical protective rights at German infringement courts. She also conducts patent nullity proceedings at the German Federal patent Court and Federal Supreme Court. Her work includes the coordination of parallel international patent disputes and the strategic advice regarding the new Unified Patent Court and the European Patent with unitary effect.
In addition to litigation and general patent law advice, including freedom-to-operate analysis, Anna drafts license agreements and technology purchase agreements and advises on IP transactions. Another significant aspect of Anna's work is the protection of trade secrets and know-how. This includes consulting clients regarding an effective protection of their know-how as well as representing them in court proceedings in cases of know-how theft or drafting of joint venture and research and development agreements.
Anna studied law at the Julius-Maximilians University in Wuerzburg. During her law studies, she graduated in a parallel study about European Law. As part of her studies, Anna spent one year at the law school of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. In the course of her legal clerkship in Hamburg, she worked, inter alia, for the German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, China.
