Awards & rankings | 09 March 2020

At the awards dinner in London on Thursday night, we collected French Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year, and Russian Patent Firm of the Year, recognizing our leading work in these fields.

Managing IP drew attention to our representation of a range of clients in brand related disputes in France, including the high profile new gTLD dispute over .MERCK and our protection and enforcement of the LEGO brand. Our successful representation of both Bristol-Myers Squibb and Google in the Russian patent courts were cited in our being awarded Russian patent firm of the year.

Burkhart Goebel, Global Practice Group Leader for IP, Media and Technology commented "We have our clients to thank for these awards. We are privileged to work for the world's most valuable brand owners and most innovative companies."

In addition to being nominated for Global IP Firm of the Year, we are proud to have been shortlisted for 12 additional awards across EMEA this year:

We now look forward to the Managing IP Americas Awards, taking place in New York on March 26, where we have been shortlisted for Americas IP Firm of the Year and, Mexico Copyright Firm of the Year.

We took home the Global IP Firm of the Year award in both 2018 and 2019, and remain the only firm to have won this award in two consecutive years.

This announcement follows our recent successes at the IAM and WTR Global IP Awards in January. Hogan Lovells collected two awards: French Trademark Contentious Firm of the Year and German Trademark Litigation Firm of the Year.

Furthermore, we are proud to have maintained our Band One ranking for Intellectual Property in Chambers Global for the 12th consecutive year. In the recently published WTR 1000, we also maintained our stronghold on Gold and Silver rankings across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas.

Congratulations to our global team for these achievements.
