Hogan Lovells advises IBM in $4.6bn software acquisition

Washington, D.C., 7 July 2023 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells jointly advised IBM in its US$4.6 billion all-cash acquisition of Apptio Inc., a leader in financial and operational IT management and optimization software. The acquisition will aid the advancement of IBM's IT automation capabilities and enable the company to deliver enhanced business value across technology investments. The acquisition is a continuation of IBM's investment in hybrid cloud and AI and is expected to drive significant synergies across several key growth areas for IBM. Apptio, which is a growing technology leader serving more than 1,500 clients, including more than half of the Fortune 100, will benefit from IBM's long-established scale and reach, working with clients and partners across more than 175 countries.
