Sergey Milutin advises national and international clients, especially Fortune 500 and DAX 40 companies, on litigation, investigations, compliance, product liability, ESG issues as well as business law. He supports clients on complex legal matters applying a highly interdisciplinary approach and business thinking based on his strong cross-border legal background.
As a Russian Advocate, also admitted as foreign qualified lawyer by the Munich Bar Association, he advised and represented European, American and Russian companies on complex legal issues and disputes, in particular in the field of commercial and incolvency litigation before Russian commercial courts and courts of general jurisdiction. He also advises on a wide range of business law issues. Being a qualified mediator he also has strong negotiation skills and can keep clients out of court. Speaking five languages and possessing strong intercultural communication skills, he can offer clients reliable cross-boarder legal support, especially in the German-Russian (EU - EAEU) context.
After his graduation at the Lomonosov Moscow State University with honours he received a master's (LL.M.) and a doctoral degree in law (Dr. jur.) from the University of Regensburg. He also studied German and International Law at the University of Tuebingen. Sergey is also author of over 30 scientific publications on Energy, Business, IT, Banking and Environmental Law and participates regulary in various conferences.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells he worked as a Legal Counsel for the biggest Russian gas company (Moscow) and as a Senior Associate and Partner for a law firm with a German and international focus in Moscow.
