Equipped with both engineering and law degrees, Sally focuses her practice on intellectual property issues, including patent litigation in federal district courts and post-grant proceedings, such as inter partes review before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Sally also has experience counseling clients on intellectual property issues, such as evaluating patent portfolios and providing freedom-to-operate opinions.

With a scientific background that includes physics, electronic engineering, and computer science, Sally has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by clients in the technology sector, particularly those in software engineering and telecommunications industries.

Before law school, she worked as a patent agent in China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd., a top-notch Chinese IP firm, where she gained extensive experience serving clients from all over the world and built expertise in patent prosecution, drafting, and invalidation proceedings in China. Her international background gives her a unique perspective on complex issues related to intellectual property disputes in the time of globalization.

While in law school, Sally participated in Northwestern's 2019 Julius H. Minor Moot Court Competition and received the award for best speaker in the first three rounds. During the fall semester of her third year of law school, Sally worked as a judicial extern for Judge Edmond E. Chang in U.S. District Court of Northern District of Illinois.
