An experienced and dynamic partner in the Hogan Lovells Banking & Loan Finance practice in Germany, Thomas Freund focuses his practice on leveraged buyouts, unitranche financings, bank/bond financings as well as corporate lending for large- and mid-cap companies.

Thomas has built strong relationships with a broad range of clients including national and international financial institutions, private credit funds, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers. 

In addition, Thomas has broad experience advising on complex debt restructurings, out-of-court solutions, insolvency proceedings and distressed M&A transactions.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Thomas was the co-Head of the Banking & Finance practice group at Eversheds Sutherlands. Prior to this, Thomas spent time in the Banking groups at Latham & Watkins and Ashurst.
