Whei Hsueh represents a number of clients at the forefront of the technology industry in various intellectual property (IP) matters, including complex commercial transactions, patent prosecution and counselling, and freedom to operate analyses. Whei's law firm experience representing patent portfolio clients includes five years of experience as a former patent agent at another prominent firm in San Francisco.
Leveraging her background in engineering, Whei takes a straightforward and technical approach to advising clients on IP-related deals. She has experience with licensing arrangements, joint ventures, venture capital, technology development, and transfers of IP for companies in various industries, including semiconductors, hardware, software, blockchain, cryptocurrency, cloud computing, and internet technologies.
Prior to Whei's law firm experience, she served as a senior ASIC design engineer for a leading Silicon Valley semiconductor supplier. She has over five years of industry experience designing custom and platform ASICs for several of the top tech companies in the networks, storage components, and consumer electronics industries.
While in graduate school, she studied digital and analog circuit design, focusing on microprocessors and operational amplifiers. Her engineering background includes experience in a broad range of technologies, including semiconductor devices and physics, hardware and software programming, internet technology, and web design.
