Whei Hsueh represents a number of clients at the forefront of the technology industry in various intellectual property (IP) matters, including complex commercial transactions with a focus on technology, IP licensing, and patent counselling. Whei's law firm experience also includes five years of patent prosecution experience as a former patent agent at Hogan Lovells and another prominent firm in San Francisco.

Leveraging her background in engineering and patent prosecution, Whei takes a straightforward and technical approach to advising clients on IP-related deals, including IP aspects of venture capital, strategic buyer, and mergers and acquisitions transactions. She advises clients on matters related to the joint development, licensing, acquisition, sale, use, and protection of IP and on IP protection strategies in various industries, including semiconductors, hardware, software, cloud computing, and internet technologies. She also assists with agreements for the provision of technology-related services, reseller agreements, and outsourcing and distribution agreements.

Prior to Whei's law firm experience, she served as a senior ASIC design engineer for a leading Silicon Valley semiconductor supplier. She has more than five years of industry experience designing custom and platform ASICs for several of the top tech companies in the networks, storage components, and consumer electronics industries.

Advised Intel Corporation on the IP aspects of multiple transactions, including its US$900m acquisition of Moovit, SigOpt, and NetSpeed Systems, Inc.

Assisted Marvell Technology Group in all IP aspects of its US$6bn acquisition of Cavium Inc. and in its US$450m acquisition of Aquantia.

Advised Dialog Semiconductor in IP aspects of its US$500m Adesto Technologies Corporation and US$276m acquisition of Silego Technology.

Counselled Synopsys in the IP aspects of multiple transactions, including its acquisition of eSilicon; Invecas, Inc.; LightTec, Moortec Semiconductor Ltd.; Qtronic; and Tinfoil Security.

Assisted Adobe in all IP aspects of its US$4.75bn Acquisition of Marketo.

Assisted Salesforce in all IP aspects of its US$800m acquisition of Datorama and US$41m acquisition of Diffeo, Inc.
