Brexit 2020 Webinar Series – Webinar 2: Engaging with the Exit Process

It is now almost impossible to imagine that the United Kingdom will not leave the European Union on 31 January 2020.

It is unprecedented for a trade deal of this size, between the European Union and the United Kingdom, to be negotiated within 11 months, or anything like that time frame.

A slimmed-down deal could be struck before the end of the year, with further agreements struck over the years to follow. Alternatively, an extension will be needed, despite the prime minister's insistence this will not happen. Or a no-deal relationship will be the default.

The Hogan Lovells team is presenting a series of webinars to keep you informed on all things Brexit and to give you guidance on how you can prepare for change and engage and influence the United Kingdom's future trading, legal, and regulatory positions.

As the government focuses on the future relationship with the European Union, so should you. In this webinar we helped participants consider the following actions for their business:

  • What can we expect from the United Kingdom and the European Union in negotiating a trade deal?
  • Can businesses engage in the negotiation process?
  • What can we do, what can't we do, and how do we do it?
  • Are there key issues for my sector?
