Sam Dougherty focuses his practice on complex litigation and international arbitration matters. He began his Hogan Lovells career as a summer associate in 2018.

Sam graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School, where he gained valuable experience in the Anti-Terrorism and National Security Unit of the United States Attorney's office in the District of Massachusetts. He also served as a staff writer and articles editor of the Boston College Law Review and studied at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany.

Before law school, Sam worked for a member of Congress for two and a half years where he connected constituents with government resources and communicated the Congresswoman's positions on legislation.

He is passionate about pro bono causes and has assisted individuals who have sought asylum or refugee status.
