Chapter 30: Nuclear energy

The 2023 Spring edition of the Environmental Law Institute’s Law of Environmental Protection, Vol. 3 features an entirely new chapter dedicated to Nuclear Energy by Daniel F. Stenger and Stephanie Fishman of Hogan Lovells.

This much anticipated chapter recognizes growing interest in nuclear’s role in energy security and a transition to clean carbon-free power. Recent developments covered include advances in reactor design with small modular and advanced reactors using passive safety systems, congressional infusion of financial incentives, incorporation of environmental justice and other considerations in agency decision-making, and breakthroughs in fusion technology.
