Hogan Lovells advises Dürr AG on acquisition of BBS Automation

Press releases | 14 June 2023

Led by Frankfurt partners Dr Matthias Jaletzke and Nikolai Sokolov, an international team of global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Stuttgart-based mechanical and plant engineering company Dürr AG on its acquisition of BBS Automation Group.

In course of the transaction, MDax-listed Dürr AG will acquire 100 percent of the shares in BBS Automation Group. The seller is a consortium led by the financial investor EQT.

The acquisition of the Bavarian company BBS Automation is in line with Dürr's strategy of growing in markets with strong demand and high profitability potential. Revenue in the Automation Technology segment is expected to more than double as a result of the acquisition, reaching around € 500 million in 2024.

The transaction will be financed from cash flow as well as through existing financing instruments and bridge financing. The closing of the transaction is expected to take place in the second half of the year.

Hogan Lovells comprehensively advised Dürr on all issues related to the acquisition.
