Washington, D.C., London, 21 December 2022 - Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that Washington, D.C. partner Anna Kurian Shaw has been appointed global Managing Partner for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).  Anna's appointment follows Susan Bright‘s retirement from the Hogan Lovells partnership.

The firm’s commitment to responsible business includes wellbeing, pro bono, community investment, fundraising partnerships, the environment (including net zero commitments) and sustainability more broadly.  Michael Davison, deputy CEO of Hogan Lovells, will oversee these areas going forwards to ensure continued collaboration across the firm in relation to this important agenda, working with the firm’s global responsible business team and Global Responsible Business Committee.

Anna Kurian Shaw commented: “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a critical area of the business for Hogan Lovells.  I am honored to be taking management responsibility for this area.  The firm’s efforts on DEI are critical to our people, our clients, our community and our high-performance culture.  I look forward to continuing Hogan Lovells’ journey to being a market leader in this area.

Miguel Zaldivar, CEO of Hogan Lovells, said: “I am delighted that Anna will be taking on this important role for our firm. Anna will work closely with our DEI team and global DEI Committee to continue our efforts to recruit and retain diverse legal and business services talent, and ensure we are fostering an inclusive work culture.  She has earned a reputation as an impressive leader in her practice, and as someone who is passionate about DEI, and she has a natural talent for bringing people together.

Michael Davison added: “We are very proud that Hogan Lovells is regularly ranked as a standout firm for our pro bono work and our sharp focus on the environment and sustainability more broadly means that we now have a unique opportunity to make a real and measurable difference on this important issue.
