Women in Corporate & Finance Impact Series – Panel Discussion: Positioning for Power

We are pleased to launch our Women in Corporate & Finance Impact Series with a panel discussion, Positioning for Power, on Tuesday, 24 October 2023 in our New York office.

Our Women in Corporate & Finance Impact Series will provide a platform for participants to hear invaluable insights from inspirational women in corporate and finance as they share their experiences and lessons in making an impact as leaders in their field. This series will be hosted in various cities in the U.S. and aims to build a strong community of successful women at all levels in the corporate and finance arena.

About our panelists:

Barbara Byrne serves as an Independent Director of Paramount Global, PowerSchool, LanzaTech, and Carta. Prior to her current roles, Barbara was an investment banker for 37 years at Lehman Brothers and at Barclays, and she was the first woman to be named Vice Chairman at either firm. She held senior leadership positions in the Energy, Technology Investment Banking, and Senior Client Relationship groups. As a member of the World Economic Forum’s Gender Parity Task Force, Barbara worked to advance next generation women leaders. She has appeared on the lists of the top women on Wall Street, was top five of American Banker’s "25 Most Powerful Women in Finance" for eight consecutive years, and received American Banker’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Finance in 2018.

Alison O’Neill is the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, and Chief Counsel, M&A and Licensing at Pfizer Inc., where she leads a team of attorneys who partner with the company’s Worldwide Business Development function to structure, negotiate, and implement transactions that help to enable Pfizer’s strategy. Alison joined Pfizer's Legal Division following Pfizer’s acquisition of Wyeth. Alison previously spent six years as an M&A lawyer at an international law firm.

Djenaba Parker
serves as goop’s General Counsel and Chief People Officer. Prior to joining goop, Djenaba spent almost nine years at Red Bull, where she held several roles — including Senior Vice President and GC for Red Bull North America and GC & Chief Talent Officer for the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. Djenaba also previously practiced as an attorney in the Banking and Institutional Finance department at two international law firms.

Eve Howard
is the Global Head of the Hogan Lovells Capital Markets practice and she previously served on the firm’s International Management Committee as Regional Managing Partner. Eve has more than 30 years of experience in capital markets, corporate governance, diversity and inclusion, risk management, and disclosures. Eve is regularly ranked as a leading capital markets lawyer by Legal 500 US and in 2020, she was recognized as a Capital Markets MVP by Law360. Eve also serves on the Board of Directors of Cogent Communications and DirectWomen.
