David Hudd is senior counsel and a former partner of Hogan Lovells who served as Deputy CEO from 2014 to 2020. He is a seasoned capital markets lawyer, having worked on a huge range of deals since the inception of the European structured finance market over 30 years ago.
After working at another City firm and spending over nine years in investment banking, David joined Hogan Lovells as its first dedicated capital markets partner in London in 1994 to establish the firm's structured finance practice. Before his appointment as Deputy CEO in July 2014, David led the firm's global finance practice.
David has been consistently ranked as a market-leading lawyer for over 25 years and is rated by Chambers as an eminent practitioner for securitisation and by Legal 500 for securitisation and structured products.

Advising BNP Paribas as arranger of the SecurAsset Secured Note Programme and as arranger of issues under its EMTN and warrants & certificates programmes.
Advising Deloitte LLP as receivers of the US$1bn Rhinebridge structured investment vehicle (SIV).
Advising Ernst & Young LLP as receivers of the US$50 bn Sigma SIV.
Advising the trustee of a US$12bn repackaging programme originally arranged by Lehman Brothers.
Advising BNP Paribas as arranger of over 100 synthetic CDOs.
Advising Morgan Stanley and a major financial institution as arrangers of structured products.
Advising Nomura and Credit Suisse as arrangers of various real estate-backed structured financings.
