Verena Schmid focuses on all aspects of patent law. She represents clients in and advises on infringement and nullity proceedings and brings extensive experience in a diverse range of industry sectors, in particular in the mechanical engineering, telecommunication, electronics and automotive industry. Her practice also includes advising on unfair completion matters and intellectual property transactions.

Verena answers the complex questions of her clients in a quick, efficient and targeted fashion. She finds workable and satisfying solutions for her clients' interests and always aims at obtaining a successful outcome in court proceedings.

Verena likes the concept of introducing a Unitary Patent for Europe and pursued the project from the beginning. She is an author of the Tilmann/Plassmann Unitary Patent and UPC commentary and therefore the "go-to" lawyer when it comes to questions about the new Unified Patent Court and the European Patent with unitary effect.

Before joining our firm, Verena studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. During her legal traineeship (Rechtsreferendariat) at the Munich Court of Appeals, she was already a member of our Intellectual Property, Media & Technology (IPMT) practice group and the Munich patent law group.
