Wensheng Ren

As an Associate in Hogan Lovells' Shanghai office, Wensheng Ren sees his role as the person who works behind the scenes, getting deals done while doing it right. He advises multinational companies on all aspects of Chinese laws in various industries with regard to their strategy and business in China, with a focus on foreign direct investments and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory related matter.

Building on the depth of his understanding of Chinese laws, Wensheng also goes beyond the general corporate matters to provide advice in highly regulated sectors, including TMT, life sciences, automobile and insurance. 

Being a native Chinese and educated in both China and overseas, Wensheng speaks both Mandarin Chinese and English. Supported by acute cultural sensitivity acquired from studying and living experiences in various regions, Wensheng has a unique understanding of how to provide actionable legal advice in cross-cultural business settings.

Advising one of the world's largest private companies on the massive corporate restructuring of its newly acquired businesses throughout China and Asia.

Advising a Singapore private equity on its acquisition of two manufacturing companies in Changsha in the due diligence phase and the divesture.

Advising an US-based multinational pharmaceutical company on establishing a joint-venture with a stated-owned enterprise to develop veterinary pharmaceuticals.
