Partner Matt McTygue elected President of the Boston Bar Association
Boston, 6 September 2024 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is delighted to announce that Matt McTygue, a C&F partner at our Boston office, has been elected President of the Boston Bar Association, effective 1 September 2024.
The Boston Bar Association (BBA) is a premier legal association in the Commonwealth, with over 15,000 members and 145 institutional partners consisting of law firms, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, and law schools. The association is dedicated to advancing the highest standards of excellence in the legal profession, facilitating access to justice, fostering a diverse and inclusive professional community, and serving the community at large. Through collaboration and discussion, the BBA brings together stakeholders to exchange ideas, build relationships, and expand professional networks.
With over 25 years of experience in private equity and finance, McTygue is a leading corporate lawyer at the firm. He focuses on representing private equity and venture capital firms, investors, and private companies across a range of transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, and restructurings.
Prior to his election as President, McTygue served as the BBA President-Elect and has been an active member of its Executive Committee. His previous roles include Vice President, Treasurer, and service on the Joint Finance and Beacon Award Selection Committees, as well as Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Section. McTygue was also a member of the BBA’s Law Firm Leadership Forum, Nominating Committee, Law Day Steering Committee, and served as Co-Chair of the Summer Jobs Steering Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Boston Bar Foundation Society of Fellows.
