Hogan Lovells' Jimmy McEntee among finalists for The American Lawyer's Young Lawyer of the Year
Washington, D.C., 20 July 2023 – Hogan Lovells senior associate Jimmy McEntee has been named on the shortlist for The American Lawyer’s Young Lawyer of the Year award.
McEntee, a member of our Litigation, Arbitration, and Employment Practice based in our Washington, D.C. office, has rapidly earned a sterling reputation in sports disputes. He leads the Firm’s sports arbitration practice, including representing Major League Baseball and National Hockey League teams in salary arbitration matters. He has a 5-2 record as lead practitioner in 7 Major League Baseball hearings, winning cases for the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Miami Marlins in recent years.
He also played a key support role in a Hogan Lovells team that successfully represented the University of Louisville before the NCAA's Independent Resolution Panel. A November 2022 decision helped the Louisville men’s basketball program escape major sanctions following an NCAA investigation into whether employees of a sports apparel company paid players and their families to attend schools affiliated with that company.
The award winner will be announced at a ceremony in New York on 15 November.
