London – 23 January 2023 – The Lawyer magazine has named Hogan Lovells partner Dan Simons in its 2023 "Hot 100" list of top lawyers working in the UK.

‘Every year, our Hot 100 covers an incredibly diverse mix of legal professionals;’ The Lawyer reported, ‘scrappers from the rough and tumble of criminal law; sophisticated corporate dealmakers; intellectuals and silver-tongued advocates from barristers' profession; the in-house counsel with the ear of their CEOs; associates rising to greatness. But whatever world they come from, they are all doing amazing work. The work they are doing is important NOW.’

Dan, a partner in Hogan Lovells’ Global M&A and Corporate practice in London, was recognised by the Lawyer for his work on various high-profile transactions over the past year, including advising: Clipper Logistics on its £1bn takeover by GXO Logistics, Tetra Tech on its recommended £636 million takeover offer of RPS Group, EFIC1 on its €1.3bn business combination with Azerion (one of the largest deSPAC transactions to have ever been announced in Europe) and, most recently, Internet Mobile Communications Limited on its $450m business combination with Crystal Peak Acquisition. In his profile, the Lawyer describe him as a rising M&A star that managed to land a raft of de-SPAC and M&A deals last year despite subdued investor confidence and muted M&A activity.

Dan commented: ‘It’s a real honour and privilege to be recognised for my work and to be considered among the best lawyers in the UK. A big thanks to the Hogan Lovells team for their continued support and excellence.’

Dan, focuses his practice on corporate transactions, in particular on equity capital markets and domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He brings extensive experience in IPOs, secondary fundraisings and private fundraisings, acting for issuers, underwriters and selling shareholders on London Main Market and AIM transactions and on pre-IPO fundraisings.
