Hubertus Weber advises national and international companies on investigations, compliance and competition law. His practice has a specific industry sector focus on the banking and financial services industry as well as the automotive industry.
Hubertus has extensive experience in defending against agency investigations including dawn raids and multi-jurisdictional agency investigations, conducting internal investigations and compliance audits as well as advising on competition law matters. Since joining the firm in 2015, he has managed several e-discoveries and conducted more than 100 employee interviews. He is also experienced in implementing compliance management systems, conducting compliance trainings and competition dispute resolution including cartel damage claims.
Hubertus has in-depth knowledge of Legal Tech products and processes and acts as the Legal Tech Representative for competition law in Germany. In this role Hubertus acts as the interface between the Antitrust and Competition practice group and the Legal Tech programming team of Hogan Lovells. He coordinates and supervises the development of Legal Tech products from idea to market launch.
Hubertus trained with the corporate, financing and financial institutions teams of international law firms and the financial services directorate of the European Commission’s DG Competition. Before joining Hogan Lovells in 2015 he was a scholarship holder at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. In 2018/19 he worked in our London office.

Advised a DAX40 company on cartel investigations of foreign competition authorities.
Advised a DAX40 company on antitrust compliance audits in three corporate divisions
Conducted an internal investigation into potentially inappropriate behavior by board members and employees in relation to Cum/Ex-Investments.
Advised Air Canada on the Air Cargo cartel damage litigation.
Advised a leading stock exchange operator on German and EU competition law.
Advised a leading US investment bank on German and EU competition law.
