Francis is an experienced senior associate based in the Sydney office, having spent almost ten years with the firm in London. His practice focuses on leveraged and acquisition finance. He has led transactions advising banks, debt funds and borrowers on a variety of financing structures, including senior, mezzanine and unitranche/super senior arrangements on acquisitions and other leveraged finance transactions, and has worked with lawyers across the full breadth of our international network.

Representative Experience

Advising HSBC and Barings in relation to the provision of facilities backing the acquisition of technology business IMD by Inflexion.

Acting for a large club of senior lenders in relation to the provision of post-IPO facilities to the food travel group SSP.

Advising HSBC, Lloyds and RBS in relation to the provision of facilities backing the acquisition of corporate travel business Reed & Mackay by Inflexion.

Advising ICG and Lloyds in relation to the provision of facilities backing the acquisition of Yo! Sushi by Mayfair Equity Partners

Advising HNA Group on its circa €1.5bn debt and equity financing relating to its acquisition of Swissport.

Acting for HSBC and Santander as lenders in relation to the refinancing of facilities made available to the D&D restaurant group.

Advising RBS and Alcentra in relation to the provision of facilities backing the acquisition by Equistone of print and document technology services provider Apogee.
