Santiago de Ampuero´s practice focuses on privacy and data protection, cybersecurity, telecommunications, audiovisual, e-commerce and information society services (ISS) law, as well as image rights, advertising and IT contracts.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, he worked for several years in a Spanish top-tier law firm where he was particularly focused on —pre/post GDPR— data protection and ISS laws.
In addition, Santiago has specialised in assisting local and international companies before the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the National Commission on Markets and Competition, and the Spanish Courts (including the Hight Court and the Supreme Court), on all types of proceedings related to data protection and ISS, including sanctioning proceedings.
He also spends time helping non profitable organizations to implement their projects on the matters above.
Representative experience
Assisting local and international companies before the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the National Commission on Markets and Competition, and the Spanish National and Supreme Court.
Advise on a day to day basis to leaders in the insurance industry, as well as to top-level information society service providers.
Advising an IT multinational corporation on the adaptation to the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Assisting local and international entities in reviewing and drafting intellectual property rights licenses and contracts.
Advising medical and scoring app developers on the design of their IT / IP contracts (including, among others, Beta phase/pilot agreements, B2B, B2B2B, and B2B2C agreements, etc.).
