Drawing from extensive experience advising on sophisticated IP- and technology‑driven transactions, Tony Brown works closely with clients to deliver practical, business‑focused solutions in complex commercial matters.

Tony concentrates his practice on intellectual property and technology transactions, commercial contracting, and the IP and commercial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic collaborations. He regularly represents multinational public companies, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, and emerging and private companies across a range of industries, including technology, automotive and mobility, life sciences, energy, and consumer products.

Tony has advised clients on a wide range of high‑value and high-stakes matters involving technology‑enabled products and services, digital platforms, SaaS offerings, licensing and commercialization strategies, IT and transition services, and international supply and distribution arrangements. His work frequently involves structuring and negotiating collaboration, services, supply, and license agreements, as well as advising on cross‑border IP issues, intercompany arrangements, carve‑out and integration matters in the context of corporate transactions.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Tony was an associate in the Charlotte, North Carolina office of another international law firm, where his practice focused on M&A and commercial transactions. While in law school, Tony was a member of the Journal of Law and Politics and completed judicial internships with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Represented Ford Motor Company in its arrangement with CATL to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries at a newly-built LFP battery plant owned and operated by Ford in Marshall, Michigan
