Known for his deep expertise of the real estate industry and his practical and creative approach to the practice of law, clients turn to Ted Brown to advise on complex issues involving real estate.
Ted’s transactional practice includes advising on all phases of development, leasing, and sales transactions for a broad range of sectors, including hotels and resorts, healthcare and senior living facilities, entertainment venues, and office and industrial buildings. He counsels developers, REITs, lenders, private equity funds, and others in the negotiation of strategic joint ventures and real estate financings, often involving mezzanine debt or preferred equity. Ted also regularly advises clients on the real estate aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
Ted maintains an active pro bono practice within the firm. He also serves on the board of a private family foundation which provides grants to operating non-profits in Colorado and across the country.

Partners Group on the sale of a large-scale portfolio of U.S. industrial properties at a price of more than US$1bn.
National Health Investors on a joint venture with Merrill Gardens and a joint venture with Discovery Senior Living Holdings LLC for the management of a portfolio of NHI's senior living facilities.
Welltower in connection with a partnership with Quality Senior Living on the US$172m acquisition of a five-property portfolio of recently developed Class-A communities across the U.S.
