Zachary advises clients on complex commercial disputes and securities matters involving novel digital assets, state and federal regulatory proceedings, shareholder litigation, and international product recalls.  He has experience representing clients in a range of industries, including blue-chip financial institutions and manufacturers, as well as cryptocurrency firms and other clients in emerging tech spaces.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Zachary practiced at a New York-based global law firm, where he advised corporate clients on a variety of international issues at all stages of litigation, including cryptocurrency offerings, mass torts, complex bankruptcies and merger issues.  Zachary’s pro bono practice has focused on securing rights of asylum for indigent LGBTQ+ clients.

Zachary earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and Articles Editor for the Columbia Business Law Review.   

Representative experience

Advised FTX Trading Ltd. and its affiliated debtors in bankruptcy avoidance actions to recover cryptocurrency assets for creditors.*

Advised large cryptocurrency exchange in SEC and state investigations of its custodial and staking-as-a-service offerings.

Advised Koninklijke Philips N.V. in connection with class action and personal injury litigation arising out of the 2021 recall of various medical devices.

Advised Japanese conglomerate in a putative shareholder class action in Delaware alleging breaches of fiduciary duty arising out of a complex series of transactions following a telecoms merger.

Advised global asset manager and investment adviser in investigations and civil litigation involving internal controls over the use of material non-public information.
