Practice groupLitigation, Arbitration, and Employment

For over 15 years, Allen Pegg has concentrated in complex litigation, arbitration, and appellate work.

His clients rely on his judgment and broad range of experience to help them resolve their most difficult matters. Whether it's business torts, corporate governance issues, class action defense, financial services litigation, or commercial real estate and development claims, clients turn to Allen as a trusted advisor and business partner to help them navigate their complex disputes. Allen also regularly represents health insurers in suits challenging claims processing, payment practices, ERISA, fraud, and breach of contract claims.

Regardless of the forum – at trial, in arbitration, or on appeal – Allen approaches each case with a unique perspective on how best to tailor his strategy to accomplish his client's particular goals. He has first-chaired a number of trials and arbitral hearings, and has briefed and argued dozens of appeals in various state and federal appellate courts.

Allen is also active in the local legal community. The Chief Judge of the Southern District of Florida appointed Allen to the organizing committee for the 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017 Bench & Bar Conferences of that court. Allen has served on the Southern District of Florida's Local Rules Committee since 2010, and he is a member of a local Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar.

Allen has a keen sense of justice and of the need to give back to others. He regularly handles an array of pro bono matters, and for more than a dozen years, he was a member of the federal appellate list for Criminal Justice Act appointments.

Following law school, Allen served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and to the Honorable Rosemary Barkett, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Allen is consistently recognized as a top practitioner in commercial litigation by various publications, including Best Lawyers in America and Florida Super Lawyers.
