Allen P. Pegg

Allen P. Pegg
Practice Group

At home in whatever dispute-resolution forum a client's need requires, for over fifteen years Allen Pegg has concentrated in complex litigation, arbitration, and appellate work. His broad experience includes business torts, corporate governance issues, class action defense, financial services litigation, and commercial real estate and development disputes. Allen also regularly represents health insurers in suits challenging claims processing, payment practices, ERISA, fraud, and breach of contact claims.

Allen approaches each case with a unique perspective on how best to tailor his strategy to accomplish his client's particular goals. Throughout his career, he has first-chaired and been a member of a variety of trial teams pursuing those goals — though he has not limited himself to representing his clients before juries, trial judges, and arbitrators. Rather, Allen has also briefed more than two dozen and argued more than a dozen appeals in various state and federal appellate courts.

Allen is also consistently active in the local legal community. The Chief Judge of the Southern District of Florida appointed Allen to the organizing committee for the 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2017 Bench & Bar Conferences of that court. In 2010, Allen was appointed to the Southern District of Florida's Local Rules Committee, on which Allen continues to serve, and he is an active member of a local Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar.

Allen also has a keen sense of justice and of the need to give back to others. He regularly handles an array of pro bono matters, and for more than a dozen years, he was a member of the federal appellate list for Criminal Justice Act appointments.

Following law school, Allen served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Donald M. Middlebrooks, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and to the Honorable Rosemary Barkett, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is consistently recognized as a top practitioner in commercial litigation by various publications, including Best Lawyers in America and Florida Legal Elite.
