Today, multinational corporations and their executives are facing an increasing range of threats across the globe to their business and reputations, both internally and externally. The lawyers in Hogan Lovells' Investigations team bring decades of experience in dealing with a full range of corporate investigations, whether initiated by the government, in response to a whistle-blower complaint, dawn raids, or as a result of allegations of fraudulent activities. Our experience is both deep and wide: We have lawyers with in-depth local knowledge in virtually every corner of the globe, while at the same time we can marshal and coordinate those resources seamlessly across borders.
Our goal is to manage the issues to limit the impact to our client's business. The breadth of our team allows us to draw upon a range of experience to achieve this objective, while carrying out the investigation in an efficient and cost-effective way. We always strive to obtain the best outcome for our clients. Ideally, we aim to achieve a satisfactory resolution short of trial. When that is not feasible, our lawyers have tried — and won — hundreds of cases.
Investigations often involve allegations that a company and its executives failed to comply with complex regulations that govern many industries. We operate at the intersection of business and regulation and can call upon industry authorities in both our Investigations and Regulatory teams. This combination provides the client with the best possible blend of proactive and reactive service.
In situations where a company has been defrauded, we have dedicated teams internationally who can move quickly to locate and freeze assets, wherever those assets may be located.
We have over 50 partners world-wide with significant experience in conducting investigations related to fraud, corruption and white collar crime, and in providing proactive compliance advice. Our Investigations, White Collar and Fraud partners have an average of 25 years experience in the practice of law in these areas, and have sector specific experience in industries where bribery and corruption issues are prevalent.
We have offices in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia with significant anti-corruption experience. Unlike many other firms that claim global reach, our lawyers around the globe have actual experience of conducting investigations and advising on compliance programmes.
