Partner Peter Walsh was part of the panel "Dispute Resolution in the Wake of Realignment in the Business of Healthcare" at the CPR 2016 Annual Meeting held in New Orleans in February 2016.

The Affordable Care Act of 2010 anticipates and mandates many theoretical and structural changes in the multi-billion dollar healthcare industry. To achieve these goals, new alignments and methods of provider reimbursement are developing that affect every component of the healthcare system, including: information technology and electronic medical records; clinically integrated networks of hospitals and physicians; Medicare Shared Savings Program structures; consolidation of major health insurance carriers and managed care plans; consolidation in the pharmaceutical industry; and bundled payment models to reorient reimbursement from fee for service to pay for performance. This panel addressed disputes that are arising in these new contexts and emerging approaches to resolving those disputes.
