The depth and breadth of Hogan Lovells’ experience in the automotive sector is unmatched. We have one of the largest and most experienced groups of lawyers in the United States, Europe, and Asia representing manufacturers and distributors of automobiles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and other on- and off-road motor vehicles, as well as automotive parts and components suppliers. Our global resources match the global needs of the automotive industry.
We pride ourselves on our approach to automotive representations. Our Automotive group is comprised of members who combine practical experience of the automotive industry with deep knowledge of their areas of law. Our lawyers provide comprehensive solutions to our clients in all practice disciplines relevant to the automotive industry. We bring an informed view to appellate and commercial litigation, antitrust, bankruptcy, consumer class action defense, creditors’ rights, distribution, finance, franchise, international trade, labor and employment, mergers and acquisitions, patents and trademarks, and privacy, as well as the full range of safety and environmental issues relevant to the industry.
Our experience at the intersection of business and government enables us to guide our clients through the complex government regulations relating to motor vehicles. Many of our lawyers around the world have held important positions in public service and industry, and provide unique insights into how government regulations are developed and affect our clients’ businesses. We regularly advise manufacturers and distributors on legislative matters, as well as on compliance and enforcement matters, recalls, and reporting; new standards development; defect investigations; and vehicle disclosure obligations. We have extensive experience counseling our automotive clients on matters relating to their retail dealer networks and, in the United States, have litigated scores of disputes before state dealer boards, as well as in state and federal courts across the country.
Our international reach, multidisciplinary practice, and vast experience allow us to offer our clients a unique competitive advantage: a truly flat learning curve. Our work has resulted in numerous groundbreaking transactions and some of the biggest wins in the industry.
