Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Dexter was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of a large firm, where he worked on a range of international trade, sanctions, and national security-related matters. His practice involved advising on complex regulatory frameworks, monitoring legal and policy developments, and supporting both internal and client-facing analyses on issues at the intersection of trade and national security.
Dexter earned his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he received a certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies and interned for the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and International Trade Administration (ITA). He also holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Music, with a focus on classical piano, from Lipscomb University. Prior to starting law school, Dexter taught English at a public school in Shanghai, China. In his spare time, Dexter enjoys playing the piano, vegetarian cooking, long-distance running, and attending the symphony.
