German employment law is said to be a complex, ever changing area, but if understood and used wisely, its rules can offer a wide range of chances for employers. Tim Gero Joppich is a highly regarded senior employment lawyer, who brings substantial knowledge and experience, anticipating and helping international and domestic clients to solve their cutting-edge employment law challenges. Tim specialises in co-determination law as well as in dismissal law. His legal advice focuses predominantly on national and international companies in restructuring processes and cross-border transactions, particularly on all issues in the context of transfer of businesses, as well as on drafting and negotiating collective agreements. This includes preparing (mass) layoffs and representing clients in litigation.
Dusseldorf-based partner Tim Gero Joppich heads the German practice group, comprising 29 lawyers at the four offices in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
Tim has published various articles in German law reviews and is an experienced speaker at employment law seminars. He is co-author of the standard reference book on German employment law "Beck'sches Formularbuch Arbeitsrecht" (C.H. Beck, 4th edition).
