Rob trained at Hogan Lovells and joined the pension team in 2016. Rob advises trustees and employers of both occupational defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes on a range of pension law issues.

During his training contract with Hogan Lovells, Rob completed six month seats in the Pensions, Real Estate and Capital Markets practice groups. He also completed a six month secondment to SABMiller during its US$104 billion acquisition by Anheuser-Busch InBev NV.

Representative experience

Advising on the closure of a defined benefit pension scheme to future benefit accrual and the opening of a new money purchase arrangement.

Advising on the restructuring of a pension fund's life assurance arrangements to protect its members' fixed and individual protections for lifetime allowance purposes. 

Responding to member complaints relating to the application of ill-health and death benefits.
Consolidating and updating pension scheme documentation in line with scheme-specific amendments and developments in legislation.
Setting up Flexible Apportionment Arrangements to allow for a restructuring of the employers participating in a pension scheme.
Advising Trustees on the implementation of an "At Retirement" service to inform and advise members on their pension options at retirement.
