Josh Stickland’s practice is predominantly concerned with multi-jurisdictional patent litigation across the technology, telecommunications and life sciences sectors. Josh has previously worked with international clients and experts on long-running disputes relating to standard essential patents and blockbuster drug patents.
Josh graduated from the University of Oxford before completing his training at Hogan Lovells. He undertook seats in Intellectual Property, Corporate Litigation, Privacy & Cybersecurity and a client secondment at Ford Credit Plc during his training contract.
Josh advises clients on both assertion of patents and defence against infringement claims. Josh has worked for a number of clients in the telecommunications sector on matters involving both standard essential and non-essential technologies, and he advises on issues such as FRAND licences and competition law.

Representing Merck Sharp & Dohme in a patent dispute concerning its products.
Advising a multinational pharmaceutical company in relation to patent infringement proceedings.
Advising a Japanese multinational pharmaceutical company on issues relating to AI and patents.
Acting for Astronics in a patent dispute concerning its products.
