Nick is a commercial litigator who advises clients on a range of commercial disputes and internal or regulatory investigations. Nick’s experience includes advising numerous international clients on a range of compliance and anti-corruption matters, including risk assessments, due diligence and adequate procedures and policies, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions in high-risk jurisdictions. 

Nick has experience in guiding an American company in their international internal investigation into allegations of unlawful acts by employees and third parties and potential sanction breaches. Nick also acts for clients in complex and high value multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes involving allegations of fraud or corruption. 

Nick has worked in house, on secondment, in the disputes resolution team of a major global bank. Nick also has experience in telecom sector disputes having spent time on secondment at a leading global telecommunications company in their disputes team. 

He is active in the firm’s pro bono initiatives and successfully represented a client in their Employment Support Allowance appeal before the First-Tier Tribunal. 

Representative experience

Advised NYSE-listed firm AmerisourceBergen Corporation on its US$6.47 billion acquisition of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc.’s Alliance Healthcare wholesale distribution business in Europe.

Undertook and advised on a material investigation into serious compliance and regulatory breaches in respect of the Middle Eastern operations of a global biotech company.

Acting for the Ukrainian bank, JSC CB PrivatBank, in its multi-billion dollar fraud claim against the Bank’s former shareholders.

Advising numerous multinational companies on ABC risks arising from proposed M&A transactions involving businesses in high risk jurisdictions.  

Acting for BTA Bank in its long-running litigation against Mukhtar Ablyazov.

Advising food and beverage manufacturers in relation to contractual disputes and consumer claims.
