As a member of our Appellate practice, Dana A. Raphael focuses on high-stakes dispositive motions and appellate litigation.  She has experience litigating across a wide range of issues, including constitutional, administrative, patent, energy, health care, and criminal law.  She has briefed cases at all levels of the federal judiciary, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and in several state courts.

She also maintains a robust pro bono practice.  Dana has represented clients in reproductive justice cases, clients on death row, and co-authored several amicus curiae briefs, including in a Supreme Court death penalty case.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Dana clerked for Judge Julia S. Gibbons of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, she served as the Assistant Managing Editor of the Virginia Law Review.
