A conversation on the Future Regulatory Framework with Hogan Lovells partner Rachel Kent and Lord Holmes of Richmond.

Onshoring the EU acquisition was a gargantuan task but was far from the end of the story. A large proportion of that needs to be transferred to regulation so that it can be applied and amended in a more agile way by our independent regulators.

HMT are consulting on various aspects of this: principles within which regulators should make regulation, industry engagement mechanisms and cost-benefit analysis and perhaps most importantly effective scrutiny and accountability of regulators.

I sat down with Lord Holmes of Richmond to get his thoughts on how to make effective scrutiny.  Listen to our conversation here and read Lord Holmes' blog here.
